NDPC organises Grant Proposal Writing Workshop for Enhanced Development Interventions

The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) has organised a two-day training workshop for about 22 staff on grant proposal writing from October 30 to 31, 2024. This initiative, aimed at boosting the capacity of the Research and Innovation Division (RID), underscores the Commission's commitment to effective resource mobilization for national development.
The workshop, titled "Grant Proposal Writing Exercise, equipped participants with essential skills needed to identify relevant development grants, construct effective Theories of Change (TOC), and develop competitive budget proposals. With the increasing demand for well-structured grant proposals, the NPDC recognises the necessity of harnessing expertise from its various Divisions in a collaborative manner.
Mr. Tweneboah Koduah, Director of the Research and Innovation Division, opened the workshop by emphasizing the critical role of grant funding in driving national development projects.
The two-day write-shop, offered attendees an opportunity to participate in practical sessions, where they worked in breakout groups and applied learned concepts. This participatory approach aimed to foster collaboration and allow participants to make meaningful contributions to different components of the grant proposals.
Additionally, the workshop incorporated team-building exercises and icebreakers to enhance group participation and engagement. Participants completed a survey at the beginning and end of the workshop to assess their knowledge and satisfaction, helping organizers refine future training initiatives.
Following the write-shop, a finalized draft proposal will be developed by the resource person in collaboration with RID representatives, ensuring that all feedback is integrated. The completed proposal will then undergo internal quality assurance checks before being submitted with accompanying documents.
This training workshop is part of strategic efforts to ensure that the NDPC effectively attracts and utilises research and development grants, ultimately advancing the nation's development agenda.
